Spun from a soft yet durable blend of merino wool and nylon, this fingering weight yarn is comfortable to wear and made to last. Dyed by hand in Turkey, every colourway is full of character, with vibrant shifts that reveal themselves stitch by stitch. The Mahalle Sock pattern - named after the Turkish word for neighbourhood - is included via a handy QR code, with both toe-up and top-down options to suit your preferred way of knitting.

The traditional toe-up construction has been passed down through generations, allowing you to try your socks on as you go and adjust the fit with ease. You can knit the leg to your desired length, making the most of every metre of yarn without worrying about running out. The pattern includes thoughtful techniques such as the Turkish figure-eight cast on, stockinette stitch and a Turkish heel flap, resulting in a beautifully fitting, wearable pair.

This project is best suited to intermediate knitters who enjoy learning new techniques. The socks can be worked on double-pointed needles with the option to switch over to 9" circular needles for the foot, heel and cuff, using a single needle size throughout, although you may choose to size down slightly for a closer fit.
